 The Wellington B. Gray Gallery of East Carolina University's School of Art and Design will present the Sculpture 2009: The North Carolina Sculpture Consortium Exhibition from September 1 through September 25. There will be an accompanying symposium on contemporary sculpture including talks, demonstrations, and a panel discussion at the School of Art and Design on Thursday, September 24 and Friday, September 25. John Henry, a world renowned sculptor from Chattanooga, Tennessee will deliver the keynote talk on September 24 at 5:30 p.m. in the Speight Auditorium in the Jenkins Fine Arts Center on the ECU campus. A reception for the exhibition will follow in the Gray Gallery. On Friday, September 25, sculptor Thomas Sayre of Raleigh will speak in Speight Auditorium at 12:00 noon. We will work together to make two paintings - a portrait project! With the help on a great instructor, daddy will do a portrait of his little one, and the child will make a portrait of daddy!
